One of the best places I could go to interview an individual about musical performances would be a bar and/or club. A bar that hosts musicians usually hosts many different kinds of bands from solo artists to DJs to bigger 4 or 5 piece bands. If I wanted to find out more about which type of music (live or pre-recorded) has the best crowd response, I would merely have to ask the bar owner which he/she prefers. The bar owner is more than likely going to put bias aside and choose a specific type of performer that brings in the most revenue, the biggest fan base, and the happier customers. I would need to interview several of the staff as well along with multiple different bars to get the most accurate result. If I was going to create a survey, I would need to design it so that my questions did not seem bias. It would probably look something like this.

After the interviewee filled out the questionnaire I would have a general understanding of what is preferred by the individual, live music or pre-recorded and hopefully why the individual feels that way. I feel that giving the interviewee only 3 lines will prevent them from feeling time-obligated and/or prevent them from feeling as though they must fill in all of the lines provided. When a person is filling out a survey, they will be discouraged to comply with my request if it seems as though it will take up too much time, so I believe that it would be much more personal and easier for both parties (the interviewee and myself) involved if I offered to fill it out for them while asking them the questions. Then, if I did the interview that way, I would also be able to add questions or remove questions that pertain or do not pertain to the interviewee.
